Since we're all sharing and getting to know eachother, what kind of pilot are you now, and how far do you want to go?  My plan is to go the distance: I want to fly in the Boeing/Airbus airline/freight areas.  I know it will take lots of hours and lots of hard work, and maybe even some military time, but I'm willing to do it!

Good conversation starter! I'm learning to fly as a hobby, not to pursue a career. Actually I started with helicopters but that training is much much more expensive because of the aircraft rental. (A 2 place helicopter can rent for about $250/hour.) As of right now I have 7 hours of fixed wing training. I want to get my PPL and then my Instrument Rating. Then after that I might get a helicopter add-on.

Yeah, sounds like you are going a cheaper/better route!

Ever since i was young I wanted to be a pilot. Now that I am older but only as young as 12 i am starting to understand more things about training and am looking at books Now i have decided I want to be a commercial pilot for either American Airlines or United Airways.

I think it's great that both of you have these goals! You know there will be some rough spots along the way but always keep those goals in mind and you will succeed.
