I am 21 years old and a junior at a small christian university and  going to be graduating with a degree in exercise science in the spring of 2009.  I have been looking at going to flight school for a while but not too seriously until a few months ago.  I want to graduate with the degree that i have been working on and have been told that i don't need to have a aviation degree to be competitive in the job market but that just a 4 year degree in something is fine. I just want to now how true that is.  Also I researched a lot of schools and I'm not too terribly concerned about money i just want to get the best opportunity like everyone else. I looked into Flight safety and received there information and it looks like they are a top notch quality school so I'm just trying to find an outside opinion on the school.  any help on any of those subjects would be great.

Hello:

Now with the pilot shortage you will be fine with a degree you will be ahead of many people.

The main thing I tell people who are looking at flying for the airlines is to get out and meet people. It is more Who You know than anything. So go out to the airport on a saturday and just poke around for the day and see who you can meet.

Hope that helps
