I've been wanting for the longest time to fly WW2-era aircraft, but so far I haven't had an opportunity to get past the 'want to so bad' stage! With the talk of the diiferent types of schools, which sort would be best for the initial stages of  getting 'warbird rated'? I'm more concerned about getting VFR ok'd  as I don't think I would PLAN to go IFR at any given time. I realize this is a very general question, but where would be the best place to start to (hopefully) be able to fly  the older planes?

Call the Falcon Field FBO in Peachtree City, GA.  They have a local Commemorative Air Force (formerly the Confederate Airforce) establishment.  The actively restore and fly several warbird aircraft and would be worth talking to them.
