The San Diego Chapter of the Int’l Women Pilots Organization, aka the “Ninety Nines“, is awarding $1,000 flight scholarships to deserving local women pursuing their dreams of flight.

Twice a year the chapter awards a scholarship to current pilots who are pursuing advanced  ratings or certificates and twice a year two are awarded to student pilots who are pursuing their Private Pilot.

Applications from student pilots are due by March 31st and September 30th of each year. Applications from pilots seeking advanced flight training are due June 30th and December 31st.

One need not be a chapter member to be eligible unless they are a student pilot who has not yet soloed or taken their Private Pilot written test. However, any woman with 2 yrs of membership may apply for a grant to cover the cost of an entire rating.

To download a scholarship application or  to learn more about the San Diego Chapter and what they can offer you as a female pilot, please visit our web site-

Welcome to the Forums Av8trxx,

Thanks for the post, we hope you enjoy forums, if you ever need publicity for the 99's we can post an article on the main portion of the site.

Maybe the national office of the 99's would like a private forum as well?

Hello Av8trxx Smiley

That's a good website the 99s have. Maybe Pilot Journey could help you out and setup and host something like SanDiego99s.com for you so that you would not have to use geocities. I'm offering to do just that for you, free of cost.

You may send me an e-mail or a private message if interested.
Thanks for the post!

I'm hoping someday to be able to join the Ninety-Nines's. Can't afford the membership fee. Shocked Little on the broke side. Paradise tax. But someday.   It really does look like a good organization.

Thanks for the offer. Perhaps that would be a good idea to have our very own domain. The free website was something I put together to help promote the chapter the first week I got my computer, but I have been steadily improving it and finally added some graphics and photos. Perhaps you noticed there is a page with numerous other scholarships- some for guys too- on our site. My scholarships sub-page is something that came out of my own list of awards I kept track of over the years. The SD chapter awards are not all that is available, so if you are looking for scholarships, give that page a look too.
