1  Starting Out / International Student Questions / Australian Private Pilot Licence on: July 10, 2008, 06:25:12 pm
Hey,

I am 12 and currently living in Australia, though I'm an US Citizen. My family plan to live here for the next few years and I am very eager to start flying but there is one thing I need to know before I start. 'How much is a PP Licence from Australian worth in the US? Would I need to take all the courses again?'

Thanks for you replys. Smiley

I am also new to flight schools but I do know quite a bit. I'm not sure about Florida but I know all lot of schools in California. You can check out the flight school finder on the Pilot Journey Website It gives you a list of schools in the area you are looking for. Good Luck

sorry, I forgot 1 thing to tell you. You don't need to any courses in college to become a pilot. I know someone that has his licence and didn't take any courses in college.

I only have an answer for question 2, but it is not a definate answer. You might want to do a little more reasearch instead of just taking my answer straight up. You will need to be able to calculate the wind speed and direction and some other things quickly for take-off, landing and turbulance. I'm not sure if you would classify the flight training science or any part of the aviation process to get your licence.

Ever since i was young I wanted to be a pilot. Now that I am older but only as young as 12 i am starting to understand more things about training and am looking at books Now i have decided I want to be a commercial pilot for either American Airlines or United Airways.

I'm Briana and I'm 12 years old. I'm a US national but living in Perth, Australia. On our regular 6 month trip back to the states I usually visit my local flight school and talk to the owner about what I can do. I have taken and introductory flight already, but still strugling on a flight school to take courses. What if I take courses here and move back to the states in 3 years? Any help on flight schools in the Santa Barbara, California area please reply.

Briana
