I'm an instrument and commercial pilot in El Salvador and i want to get the FAA instruments rating, having now all the requirements to get the license but I'd like to know if it is possible to be checked by an instructor 5 or 7 hours on instruments practice to see my knowledge and then make the FAA .

Well college is important at least 2 years some Airline Requests other 4 years! thanks God it's behind me i have 4 years degree on BCs Aerospace and Flight Engineering.
But there's Several Schools in Florida Such-es Comair Delta Connection Academy i Suggest for you because they have a Unique Course converted with Riddle University to get Ur degree in the Same time you doing Ur flight training.
If u want to enter a academy as u said, it's the best choice that you could hit 2 birds at once.

I had to Answer becasue iam so Experienced with all the information needed concerning Flying. iam digged almost every school all over the World, Really!!!!!

YES YES you need to be a US Citizen or holding a Permit Residents ( GreenCard) in order to get Loan for Financial Aids... Sucks ha!
