1  Starting Out / The Flight Training Forum / Sticking the landings on: May 01, 2006, 04:00:24 pm
Ok, I'm on my fourth flight lesson, and I'm having issues with landings.  My big issues besides the ground coming at me, is base to final turn, flying in a straight line with wind blowing me all over the place, and approach angle (I'm either high, low, fast or slow).
I'm sure the key to this is practice, practice, practice, which is what is planned for my next lesson.   Is there any tips that can help a new flight student?  I want to make this next lesson as productive as possible.

2  Starting Out / The Flight Training Forum / Headsets on: March 14, 2006, 06:10:56 pm
I'm looking for a decent headset.  My thoughts are to get something that I won't have to replace for a while.  I'd like something comfortable, durable, and not too expensive.  I have my eyes on the LightSPEED LightFlight Mach 1's but I don't know if that's what I really need.  Not sure how these compare with others, or what "Must have" features are needed.   Which ones do you folks use and which ones do you recommend?

Dan, that was truly inspirational.  I was already anxious.
Hopefully..., nah I'll just let on that that's what I want the first flight to be like.  Two months, how many flights per week did you average?

Hello everyone,

My name is Vaughn.  I've have always been fascinated with airplanes, flying, and the idea of being a pilot.  I found this site while I was looking for a local flight school.  I found one very close to me (Stockton, CA.), and the folks there seem very helpful.  I'm thankful that there are resources like this site available.
