I started flying last weekend, and logged my first half hour in a Cessna 152 Aerobat I was looking at headsets and decided to come and get some "proffessional advice" :) . I like this pilot avionics headset, due to the price and the features: http://vs6015.server-store.com/store/products/item826.inetstore would I be wasting my money? should I get a David Clark? My main problem with them is the prices the command. Oppinions? Thanks all, Peter Title: Headset advice Post by: Nick on February 24, 2005, 10:39:07 am Unless you absolutly need the cell phone adaptors from this headset, i would look at some other brands, I own an ASA headset, cost me 125 (canadian) and its worked very well for me during my training. I personally, once i have enough money will most likely upgrade to the david clarks but thats a ways away yet. anyways, keep looking around im sure there are better deals out there for ya somewhere, but if you really like these ones go for it!
Nick Title: Headset advice Post by: SLagonia on March 15, 2005, 08:04:38 pm I recently bought a set of Peltor Pro headsets and find them to work very well. I also have a Dave Clark in the plane but notice little if any difference - and the difference in price is considerable.
Title: Re: Headset advice Post by: falconflyer on June 10, 2007, 12:11:00 am The ASA headsets that I have tried are not comfortable at all. The are easier to break and simply will not last as long as the DC. I have the DC and it has been worth the additional cost.

Best bet is to try a few out. most on line stores will let you try them out. DC are robust but very heavy and pricey. Light Speed are very comfortable but pricey and not very robust. Pilot brands are lower cost but lower value it is the second set I bought after buying a 200 ASA non ANR. I would stick with a ANR set, remembering that people will ride with you so you will need another set some time anyway. Get your better set after you get your ticket and have some extra money. I use the 50D Telex but the 30D or the Echelon are very good also. Check E-bay!
