Title: An Excuse to Fly Oct 23rd.... Post by: Av8trxx on October 01, 2004, 02:10:33 am Well, it's that time of year again! The Coyote Country Chapter of the Ninety Nines presents their:
13th Annual Cross Country Caper and Poker Run Saturday, October 23rd from 10:30am to 2:30pm FLY, PLAY & WIN! Pilots bring your friends! All passengers in the aircraft may play too. CFIs ask your students to participate in this fun cross country flying event for a change of pace. How do you play? Draw one random playing card at each airport for every poker hand you buy at the start of the event. Hands are $3/hand or $10/4 hands. Cards are stapled to sheets of paper at each stop. At the last stop, French Valley, you get your 5th cards for every hand to complete your sheets. The best hands of poker will win prizes at the terminus of the event in French Valley/F70. Chose your other 4 cards stops from: Fallbrook, Ramona, Gillespie, Hemet or Oceanside. There are usually about 50 prizes to chose from each year, so the more hands you buy, the better your chances! There are dozens and dozens of prizes ranging from flight gear, gift certificates, gift baskets to pilot oriented collectables. The more hands you buy, the more chances to win! Proceeds go the chapter flight scholarship fund. Click the link to see or print the Poker Run Flyer- http://www.geocities.com/sandiego99s/PokerRun.html Title: Sounds Fun! Post by: Supovadea on October 01, 2004, 12:15:01 pm Wish I could go. I've never heard of these types of Fly-in events down here. Sure we have the occasional FAA Safety Fly-in, but nothing just for fun, AND with prizes. I'm going to have to do some mainland flying in my future. :)
