This is great!  I still recall my solo and it was 20 years ago...I thought it would not happen at times, but like you it did and it was soooo worth it.

Good job!

Hey Dale and welcome to the forums.

It think the reason you may have gotten that answer is that Discovery Flights are money losers for flight schools.  Offered to people that actually might want to learn to fly.  Since you will be flying back in the UK that might have been the reason.

Also though its a grey area as to what defines "flight training".  If the time is not logged as training in a logbook then it is not training for the purposes of obtaining a pilot certificate (license in the UK)

I have noticed that each school seems to understand the law different.  I will talk with TSA and get a more definitive answer on this.

Thanks for visiting and checking in with the forums....

Hello Christopher and welcome to the forums at Pilot Journey Smiley

This will not be a problem at all.  I went through the same thing.  Once your body is is used to the ups and downs those issues will go away.

We humans have been only going forward and backward and not used to ups and downs  Smiley

Welcome Ralph!

Thanks for joining us here.

I am afraid of heights also, but with wings that "fear" goes away.  We are afraid because we might fall out of control.  But with wings we can not fall.  I know it sounds strange but its true.

Welcome to the world of flying.. I am 52 so we are close enough to the same age to love all of this Smiley

Welcome Wes to Pilot Journey!

First if you have not done it I would suggest you take a look at the Career Pilot Seminar:
http://pilotjourney.com/career_pilot_seminar

That will answer many questions.

The good news is you can train at a local school or a large school.  Larger schools have more resources and sometimes even contacts with the airlines.

Other will also chime in here..so stay tuned for lots of opinions. Smiley

Again, welcome!

Welcome to all the new folks!  I have been so busy working on a new book and a new video (that I will give you all for free) that I have not been on the forums much.

Come back and enjoy your flying!

Hi Neal,

I have seen this before and it kind of is funny.  The part I guess I do not understand is that everyone knows this BEFORE they start flight training.  So why the 'attitude' I guess.

Personally at my age I could not work for that little money either.

But if I was 23 again, I would do it for a while.

It is a well done presentation, I am just not sure I understand the message.

Hey Brad,

Great question.  I always suggested the Marv Golden basic headset.  It comes with gel seals and bag and has a 5 year warranty on it.  It is actually made by Pilot Avonics.

http://www.marvgolden.com/headsets/mg95.htm is the one I use also.
