Title: Trying to find a good flight school Post by: Stromstedt on August 03, 2007, 08:41:46 PM Hello, I'm trying to find a new flight school and I am just really not sure which one to go to... I am looking to go to a somewhat bigger flight school which is well known to most of the bigger companies. Can I get grants to go to a flight school? On a lighter note, I found a few smaller schools nearby, but I wasn't really sure which one I was wanting to go to. I can't take out a loan so therefore I am only making $200 a week. I'm having issues with all this stuff called money lol. Is there a way I can get a grant (federal or state)? Anyways, here are a few part 61 flight schools I have found in my area (which could probably start me out before going to an actual flight school).
1) Hendricks County Aviation - http://www.flyhca.com 2) Indianapolis Aviation - http://www.indianapolisaviation.com 3) Eagle Creek Flight Academy - http://www.flyeaglecreek.com I am slightly leaning towards Indianapolis Aviation -- Yes, it may be an hour away but I would get to learn the traditional method of navigation rather than using a glass cockpit plane that Hendricks County has. Then again, gas is so expensive maybe I should just go with the glass cockpit, plus get the endorsement to fly an advanced aircraft? Please give your opinions.. Thanks Title: Re: Trying to find a good flight school Post by: Colton on December 26, 2007, 11:13:58 AM You never know how much you may end up loving to fly! If, say someday down the road, you want to buy a plane...if you are getting single engine, it may not be the "glass cockpit" type. Also, what if you wanted to take your family on a flight, or weekend vacation or something...also, going to be much harder to find a glass cockpit plane vs regular.
