Daytona Beach, Florida, USA - Phoenix East Aviation, Inc. (PEA) announces the completion of a major facilities expansion, along with other student-centered improvements. More space was added to accommodate current growth; approximately 3,500 square feet of additional area was added to the training facility. A new flight simulator, the Frasca 142 FTD, was acquired for professional pilot training programs. The Frasca 142 FTD is a twin engine flight simulator with handling and performance characteristics very similar to actual general aviation aircraft, making it perfect for recip engine flight training. The FTD can also be set to replicate a single engine, fixed gear trainer, as well as a twin with advanced avionics.
Improvements also included the installation of a new scheduling system. Students now have the ability to check their flight schedules via the internet, 24/7. Scheduling and aircraft utilization have been enhanced with the new system, and students and instructors debrief flights directly onto a computer.
For student convenience, more computer stations have been added. The student lounge has also been redecorated. And inside and out, the academy has been repainted and re-carpeted. Complete new landscaping finalized the project.
