As we at the beginning of a new year again a lot of people will want to do their private pilot license. Obviously there are many reasons for wanting to fly varying from achieving a long term goal, a life long dream, the start of a new career or maybe simply to be able to say:"I can fly". Whatever the reasons are I often get asked by a new student "do you think I'll be able to fly".

Believe it or not, almost anyone can learn to fly. Flying seems mysterious to many people, but it's really not that hard to master. Learning to fly can be a fun and exciting experience that results in a lifelong hobby, a rewarding career, adventurous vacations, or an asset to your business.

There are millions of Persons around the world, who have learned to fly. Some of them do it just for fun, others use it as a way to travel to work and there are others who become career pilots to earn a living.

If you are starting to do research on how to learn to fly, it can sometimes become an overwhelming task, but stay calm it is not as hard as it looks!!! There are 9 different types of basic certificates. In successive order of qualifications they include student, sport, recreational, private, instrument rated, commercial, certified flight instructor, airline transport pilot and designated pilot examiner.

Now that you have made the decision to learn to fly and are looking for an aviation school, you are about to enter the “twilight zone” where you will be faced with every flight school's and every flight instructor's own way of presenting the cost of flight training. The true cost of flight training is very difficult to quote because there are so many factors that play into the cost. There are NO flight schools and instructors who solely control the cost.

Private Pilot Requirements

Here are the requirements for obtaining your Private Pilot Certificate, the list can seem like a great deal of work, however you will be having so much for learning how to fly - working on the list will seem like fun and just fly by.

The best ideas come from visitors and here is another example of just that. A future pilot called from Washington DC and asked if we had a ‘check list’ for all the items to ask when determining the cost of learning how to fly.   Gee, what a good idea!  Proving that some good things really can come from inside the Beltway!

The purpose of this chart really is not to compare prices, and it will be very tempting to use it that way.  A word of wisdom here, don’t do that. Buying flight training is not like buying other products. Buy quality, and you will save money in the long run. Really!
