Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA) is the Aviation specialist for flight training. IAA is a dedicated flight school offering the distinction of flight training in a wide range of pilot certifications and advanced education opportunities. We are proud to be the very first and currently only, State Board Certified vocational flight school in the state of Illinois.

LET IAA HELP YOU MEET YOUR GOALS!
All our courses are based on FAA requirements for each individual certificate or rating and the ‘times’ reflect the minimums that each aviator is expected to meet, prior to receiving their qualification.

IAA offers the following courses:
• Private Pilot course (51 Clock hours)
• Instrument Rating (84.5 Clock hours)
• Commercial Certificate (66 clock Hours)
• Flight Instructor (Clock hours: CFI: 30, CFII: 25, MEI: 20)
• Multi-Engine (17 Clock Hours)
• ATP

*Clock hours are defined as total ground and flight instruction received.

Illinois Aviation Academy is proud of our on-going development and association with local Community Colleges. These colleges afford students the opportunity to participate in various degree programs, while attaining their aviation licenses.

IAA teaches aviation ground school classes through each college's Office of Continuing Education. These courses focus on the Fundamentals of Aviation and will qualify and prepare you to take the required FAA Written Exam prior to flight training.

Aircraft
In order to best serve our clientele, we offer a variety of reliable and safe aircraft that are available to satisfy your diverse needs. All of our aircraft are fully inspected, all certificates are current, and they are excellently maintained in our hangar. You'll love our prices, too!

Location
We are located on the corner of Tower and Kautz roads in West Chicago, Illinois. IAA is open seven days a week from 7am-7pm and we encourage walk-ins to our facility. So please feel free to stop in sometime and enjoy a cup of coffee on us!

Why train with us
IAA is proud to provide the aviation community with trained professional and recreational pilots that have “real world experiences.”  Students will fly in all types of weather in the challenging Chicago ATC system. IAA has a 21,000 square foot hangar, IFR equipped aircraft, simulators, an all-weather airport with four runways and a control tower open 24 hours a day.  Our training breeds confident and proficient pilots.
