Anderson Aviation, Inc. was founded by Mr. Billie Anderson in 1992.  Mr. Anderson obtained his aviation training from the U. S. military as an Army helicopter pilot.  Mr. Anderson retired from the military and then proceeded to fly helicopters ferrying workers to oil rigs offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.  He and then returned to Hawaii as a helicopter tour pilot on the neighbor islands.  Later Billie became a Captain for Princeville Airways, which is now known as Aloha Island Air, then he became a Captain for Discovery Airways.  He always had a desire to start his own business, so after many years with the airlines, he decided to open an aviation business on  Oahu . . . .  Anderson Aviation, Inc.  Mr. Anderson then became an FAA Designated Examiner after opening the business.

Unfortunately, Billie passed away in May 1999.  He is survived by his wife, Nida, and their children, Lisa, Kim, Kelly and Todd.  Lisa earned several ratings at this flight school and is now a Captain for Continental Express. Kelly Anderson has also followed in the steps of his father and he is also a Captain for a local cargo company in Hawaii.  Kelly Anderson is now the Owner and President of Anderson Aviation, Inc. and it’s Chief Flight Instructor.

Today Anderson Aviation is still considered to be the PREMIERE Flight Training School in Hawaii.  It has an unparalleled flight and safety reputation. Our students are exposed to the highest levels of professional technique and procedures from the very beginning.  There is no second best here.  Anderson Aviation graduates are never intimidated by “Class B Airspace” or “Big City Airports” as your training is accomplished through the utilization of Hawaii’s International Airport.  Most of our students who stay in Hawaii after their training, have gone on to be hired with Aloha Island Air, Aloha Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines. Others have obtained jobs with several airlines on the mainland.

This flight school followed Mr. Billie Anderson’s philosophy of “Train toward the highest standard possible and produce a good, safe and well-educated pilot”.  We are pleased to say that this tradition has continued even though Mr. Anderson is no longer with us.  His philosophy still guides this school to this very day.  We want students who will uphold this tradition of investing their own personal best in the training we give.  Your efforts will be well rewarded.

Flexible Scheduling. Anderson Aviation operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and because of our splendid climate, there is rarely a training delay due to weather. Training is conducted around your schedule. We're ready to go when you are. The sky's the limit.

Clean, modern aircraft. Our flight training aircraft fleet is impeccably maintained and equipped with up to date avionics. Our aircraft are serviced and maintained "by the book".

Close management oversight. The management of Anderson Aviation is intimately involved with the conduct of every phase of our flight training. Counselors and supervisors are at your service to ensure that your training experience with us is satisfactory in every regard.

Periodic phase tests. As your training progresses, phase tests are administered by skilled, qualified personnel to ensure standardization and to reassure that your training is "on course".

Time. The time to successfully complete a Private Pilots license varies with each student. However, our syllabus average to prepare a Private Pilot is consistent at about 50 total hours as compared to the national average of nearly 70.

Quality. Weather, facilities, location and equipment, along with personnel and a long tradition of excellence combine to make Anderson Aviation one of the premier flight training options available today.
