Welcome to Colorado Flight Center, Grand Junctions newest flight training facility at Walker Field Airport (GJT). Whether you are interested in working towards a pilot certificate, advanced rating, or simply brushing up your flying skills, the Flight Center can help you get ready for takeoff.
The Flight Center is a Cessna Pilot Center, a specially selected flight school that represents top-quality, professional training. Colorado Flight Center, like all schools associated with Cessna, provides a modern approach to flight training. Gone are the evening ground school sessions and backsliding that comes between scheduled lessons, as Cessnas curriculum is a multi-media CD-based system which integrates your training flights with the classroom knowledge, resulting in maximum retention and lower completion times.
And youll be training with our experienced instructors in the safest aircraft in the industry. You can choose from our GPS-equipped Skyhawk with steam gauges or ramp it up to the next generation by flying the new Skyhawk SP with the Garmin G1000 Electronic Flight Information System. We also have a Cessna Cutlass (172RG) for complex training and two turbo-charged aircraft for cross-country trips.
Our instructors bring a wealth of experience to the Flight Center, including primary, advanced, instrument, multi-engine, and mountain instruction. We are also specializing in training for Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA), including our brand new Garmin G1000-equipped Cessnas. For those of you who own a TAA, we can help you get the most out of the new technology. Our instructors are familiar with most Honeywell Bendix/King, Garmin (including Apollo and UPS), Avidyne, and Chelton GPS and EFIS systems. We are committed to providing safe, quality and informed instruction which necessitates a modern fleet of aircraft and a well-versed team of instructors.
The Flight Center also wants to unite our local flying community by providing a venue to keep pilots informed, connected and flying safely. As part of that commitment, we are hosting monthly gatherings called Flying After Hours. These no-cost meetings will be an assortment of FAA WINGS-endorsed safety seminars and general interest presentations. See our calendar for the schedule for this series.
Also, in addition to the longer tours offered by our sister company, Parkwest Air Tours, we are also planning regular fly-out events to help keep the local GA community flying, learning and, most importantly, having fun. Again, see our calendar and let us know when you can join us!
Jump start your way to a new challenge with a Discovery Flight or learn the latest in EFIS technology with an intro to the G1000 . Give us a call today to schedule one of our Flight Specials. These also make great gifts!
