FLIGHT TRAINING IN NEW MEXICO – THE MESA WAY!
The Mesa Pilot Development program at San Juan College provides quality flight training to students who seek an airline career. As a flight student in the Mesa Pilot Development program at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico, you're about to embark on an airline career opportunity of a lifetime! At San Juan College, it's all about options. The Primary program is designed for students with no flight experience or very little flight experience.
Students will earn a private pilot license, instrument, and commercial multi-engine certificates in high performance A36 Bonanzas and B58Barons with approximately 230 - 250 hours in flight time. Flight training includes 40 hours in an on-campus flight training device for the Canadair Regional Jet - 200 series. The Primary program includes an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Technology for previously non-degreed students or a Certificate in Aviation Technology for previously degreed students. The training is four semesters in length.
If a pilot has a private license, another option allows for starting the Primary program at the Instrument level. The pilot's educational background and flight currency are factors in determining whether the option is viable for the pilot. Training is three semesters in length.
For the pilot who has 200 hours in total flight time and has instrument and commercial certificates, the PACE program may be your ticket! Pilots can come in with a Multi-Engine Land certificate or earn the MEL with us! The training includes flight time in the A36 Bonanza and B58 Baron using Mesa's checklists and flows. Training includes 40 hours in the CRJ/FTD. The training is one semester in length.
