How Do I Find A Flight School?
You may view local flight schools at http://www.pilotjourney.com/flightschools/search. Simply enter your zip code and look for flight schools that display the "Discovery Flight Buy Now" icon to the right of the school contact information. Any school that displays the "Discovery Flight Buy Now" icon will accept our gift certificate. You may call any of the schools directly to schedule your flight once you have purchased the gift certificate. Remember to tell them you have a Pilot Journey Discovery Flight certificate when scheduling your flight.
What Flight Schools Accept The "Discovery Flight Certificate"?
Any school that displays the "Discovery Flight Buy Now" icon that you can look up on this page http://www.pilotjourney.com/flightschools/search will accept our gift certificate.
What Are The Age Requirements?
Generally, there are no age requirements, but this does depend on the local school - some schools may require a valid Driver’s License to take a Discovery Flight or not offer lessons to children under the age of 16. The state of New York requires a flight school to provide a flight lesson only to people that have a photo id or have a parent present to verify the identity of the person (minor) taking the Discovery Flight. Prior to purchasing the Discovery Flight certificate, you should contact the local school you would want to take the lesson at to discuss any possible age requirements.
Can My Friend Fly With Me?
Whether you can "ride along" depends on the local flight school.... They may only have 2 seat airplanes or they may not allow passengers. If they do allow passengers there may be an additional cost since the certificate only covers the cost of 1 person’s Discovery Flight. Also, please remember this is a “real” flight lesson and it might be better to have 1 on 1 time with the flight instructor.
