Can I list more than one location in your directory?

Yes, but each location must have a unique email address.

This is because you need an email address to update your listing.  Also, if you want leads for each location please make sure they each have the correct zip code.

Do the leads know that you send us their names?

Sometimes they do and sometimes they do not.  Many times a person that fills out a form online will never remember doing it.  Some times this person may want our free brochure or online seminar and not be ready to talk with a school.

Since our leads are using email to contact use we always suggest sending a prospect an email first, then let them contact you.

Do you have any tools that can help us?

Yes, we have several tools that are available.  Some are even available at no charge if your website links to us or you are a client of ours.

Lead View - coming mid July

Lead View is a an online lead viewer that allows you to store your leads from Pilot Journey in a database that you can sort, email, and comment on.

FREE for clients and FREE for schools that link to our Discovery Flight program before July 31st.

Lead Manager

Lead Manager is a help desk like program that allows all emails send to your \' This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ' or similar address to be tracked in a database where you can keep them together and respond to them.

FREE for clients and $99 per year for others.

Auto Responder Email Marketing Service (BASIC)

This service will allow you to send a series of emails to your prospects on a scheduled  basis.  This concept helps you to always follow-up on leads and helps your leads remember your school.  A sample scenario might look like this:

Welcome/Thank You email - sent right when you/prospect enter contact information
This email will contain information about your school and even attachments such as PDF files with applications or other information.

1st Follow-up email - Sent 7 days after the Welcome email and would just be checking to make sure they got the first email and if the prospect has any questions they can call you.

2nd Follow-up email - Sent 21 days after the 1st Follow-up email and might share with the prospect great places they can fly in your area or the current out look for commercial pilots, or how to use an airplane for business.

3rd Follow-up email - Sent 30 days after the 2nd Follow-up email that could share with your prospect financial aid options available at your school.

4th Follow-up email - Sent 45 days after the 3rd follow-up email which could share success stories from one of your current or former students

Follow-up emails can go on for a year or more.  Here at Pilot Journey we use this type of marketing all the time with HUGE success.  Best of all our visitors also like this concept because we share valuable information with them and the visitor can \'unsubscribe\' at any time.  This way only emails are sent to people that really want them!

The basic version of this program works by having a form on your site or a special site we own that allows you to enter the information about your prospect.

FREE to clients and $99 per year for non-clients

Complete Web - coming July 2007

Complete Web allows you to have an instant content rich website.   What we are doing is developing a first class website with articles, professional graphics, forms and more that you can use on your domain.  You continue to use your existing hosting company and your existing email accounts.  Nothing changes except you have an INSTANT professional website.

FREE if you keep the included page that allows visitors to get more information on the Discovery Flight program.

I link to Pilot Journey but I do not get leads from you, why?

For leads from the Discovery Flight program, that is those people interested in learning how to fly.  You must link to http://pilotjourney.com/discovery in order to get what we call Referer leads.

If you link to any other page on our site, you will not get those leads.  We have some special code on that page that tells us what website visitors come from.

If you would the code to display the Discovery Flight logo, which will get more leads please go to the to the Discovery Flight Logo page.   To get the most leads display this on your home page.

If you link to this page and still do not get leads from us, then we do not have your website listed correctly in our database.  Please visit the Flight School Help Desk and let us know that you link to us and are not getting leads.

Why are so many services free and how do you make money?

This is aviation, are we supposed to make money

We make most of our money by providing services to larger schools.  This enables us to do many things for free to help smaller schools.

Why are some leads I get from the other side of town?

Remember we work with MARKET AREAS not mileage areas.  If you live in a large city or area we use the entire area for leads.  It is possible that a lead will live on one side of town and work on the other side of town.  If this is the case your school could be closer to work than home, which means flying right after work would be better for the prospect.

If you feel the lead would never travel "that far" to your school, you could simply ignore that lead.

Why do I get duplicate leads?

If a prospect fills out the Discovery Flight form more than once, you will get that name again.  Prospects some times fill out the form more than once if they accidently delete the email with the Discovery Flight information in it.

This can also occur if your school is listed twice in the flight school directory.

Why do some leads come from very far away?

This can be caused by several things:

  1. The lead contact entered a wrong zip code, we use the zip code to determine which schools are closest to the lead.

  2. We have the zip code of your school wrong.  We use the zip code of your school to determine where your leads come from.

Why should I link to your website, I have my form?

The single most important reasons that hundreds of schools link to our Discovery Flight page is because we help prepare the prospect for the flight with materials that help them get the most from the flight.

We all know that students that are prepared for a lesson get the most from that lesson and are the happiest about themselves when they do better.  Remember that even though the Discovery Flight is not a "traditional" flight lesson - we still need the prospect to feel like they can learn to fly

If they complete a Discovery Flight and do not feel they can "do this", then you will likely not have a new student.

The other reason schools participate in the Discovery Flight program is that we do follow-up emails to the prospect helping them to stay interested in learning to fly.  Our emails that we send always share the value and benefits of being a pilot.  We continue to email them every so often to keep them motivated while at the same time being very careful not to send to many emails.

All of our emails come with an "unsubscribe" link so we follow professional standards when emailing prospects.  All emails come from us, so your school never has any risk in emailing prospects.
