Recently I have been working with the Flight School Association of North America, although I was a little skeptical for a while I have learned that they are really serious and the team works very hard!

In just a few short days Learn to Fly Day Promotion starts!  Next week materials will be sent to participating flight schools and other organizations.

Pilot Journey has expanded it's collection of flight schools, helicopter schools and added several new categories as well.  Now you will see air traffic controller, aviation maintenance, time building and other new categories.

Yes, we have been really silent about this new web site called AttendStar.  It is an event ticketing and event registration system that we will use to help aviation related events get attendees.

Susan: So what did your husband say about you giving his GPS to the jumble by mistake?

Mary: Shall I leave out the four-letter words?

Susan: Please do.

Mary: In that case he didn't say a word.

A photographer from a well-known national magazine was assigned to cover the recent Southern California fires. The magazine wanted to show some of the heroic work of the firefighters as they battled the blazes.

When the photographer arrived, he realized that the smoke was so thick that it would seriously impede or make it impossible for him to photograph anything from ground-level. So he requested permission to rent a plane and take photos from the air. His request was approved, and arrangements were made. He was told to report to a nearby airport, where a single-engine plane would be waiting for him.

He arrived at the airport and saw a plane warming up near the gate. He jumped in with his bag and shouted, "Let's go!" The pilot swung the plane into the wind, and within minutes they were in the air.

The photographer said, "Fly over the park and make two or three low passes so I can take some pictures."

"Why?" asked the pilot.

"Because I am a photographer for a national magazine," he responded, "and I need some close-up shots."

The pilot was silent for a moment; finally he stammered, "So, you're telling me you're not the flight instructor?

Learn to Fly Day is May 15, 2010 however local learn to fly days will be help anytime from April 1 to May 15.  Free tickets to local events will be available online.
