SAA’s mission is to train pilots to the highest standards of excellence and proficiency, in preparation for a professional airline or corporate aviation career. This goal is accomplished through dedicated instructors, a carefully designed syllabus, adherence to safety procedures and well maintained aircraft and equipment.
Our Train to Airline Standards™ insures that the Academy provides the highest quality of flight training no matter what a student’s goal in aviation is. Students have the option of enrolling on an individual basis, in part-time groups, or in the Professional Pilot Academy programs. In the Academy the student earns the following certificates and ratings: Private Pilot, Instrument, Multi-Engine and Commercial. At the completion of the commercial rating is the option to enroll in the Flight Instructor Academy. Students may also elect to earn the Instrument Instructor and Multi Engine Instructor certificates.
SAA has experienced robust growth over the past few years. After receiving our Joint Aviation Authority approval for ATPL (A) integrated and modular training we have had many students join us from the European market. In addition, the Academy has established a solid reputation in the local aviation community as well as overseas.
The Academy has earned the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) part 141 school designation. This title certifies that the Academy maintains the standards and curriculum required by the FAA for structured Flight Training. SAA works closely with the FAA to maintain high standards of safety in its flight training operations.
In addition to our Domestic and International programs, the academy is also VA approved, which allows qualified military personnel funding for flight training after they achieve their Private Pilot Certificate. Programs are available for veterans to get the initial certification necessary to begin training.
The Academy also has qualified examiners who can issue or renew European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) certificates to interested students. SAA works closely with Swedish and European aviation authorities to provide JAA training and certificates in accordance with JAA regulations.
SAA’s presence is a definite benefit to the aviation and local communities, providing many full and part time positions and positively impacting San Diego’s economy. SAA is a top-notch professional flight training organization that exists to serve its students and the community.
