Owned and operated exclusively by a former airline pilot, Air Safety Flight Academy’s roots date back to the early 1990s. Having successfully co-founded three national top-10 flight academies, Air Safety Flight Academy President and co-founder Dee Pinkston has helped to pioneer a new generation of professional pilot training in the industry by merging state-of-the-art aircraft and simulator technology with commercial pilot training.

Air Safety Flight Academy is located in beautiful Glendale, Arizona. With over 325 days a year of sunshine and an average annual daytime temperature of 82 degrees, Phoenix has the long standing reputation as being the "best-of-the-best" when it comes to flight training locations.

Airline Preparation Program – Professional Pilot Training Program
Air Safety is proud to offer the Airline Preparation Program™. The Airline Preparation Program™ is an all inclusive professional pilot training program. Standard operating procedures, formal ground schools, line-oriented flight training and crew resource management are all part of the Airline Preparation Program™. In 36 weeks, Air Safety can take you from no flight experience to a fully trained flight instructor with all the certificates, ratings and education you need to begin your commercial pilot career. Your first position as a commercial pilot will be that of a flight instructor. As such, all graduates of the Airline Preparation Program™ are guaranteed a full-time position as a paid flight instructor with Air Safety Flight Academy.

As a flight instructor with Air Safety you typically average 100 hours per month of flight time – with some months exceeding 125 hours. It is important to note that since the Airline Preparation Program™ includes almost 50 hours of multi-engine time, Air Safety flight instructors also realize the added benefit of building multi-engine hours well in excess of flight instructors at other academies. It is not just the total flight time that must be met in order to become qualified for the regional airlines, it is also the multi-engine time.

$40,000/year Salary as a Flight Instructor
As for compensation, Air Safety Flight Academy is proud to offer the highest starting salary for flight instructors in the industry. All flight instructors start out on a salary of $40,000 per year. This represents a compensation package for Air Safety flight instructors that is anywhere from two to three times higher than most flight schools or academies.

Job Placement
Once flight instructors reach 800 to 1,000 hours of total flight time the process of job placement then begins. Air Safety Flight Academy proudly places graduates with jet and turbo prop operators all over the world.
