UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AVIATION TECHNOLOGY
The University of Cincinnati offers students a unique opportunity to combine an Aviation Technology: Professional Pilot Training degree with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from UC’s College of Business, to meet a standard increasingly demanded by top aviation employers.
Initial pilot training in primary, advanced and instrument flight is conducted in a brand new fleet of training aircraft including glass cockpit equipped airplanes. Flight training is complemented with two years of college general studies. You will study all facets of safe, efficient aircraft operation including flight planning, weather evaluation, and modern methods of navigation. Courses in algebra, trigonometry, physics, psychology, economics, and information management and processing give you the knowledge you will need to advance in the industry.
As part of the program, students complete the requirements and tests for the Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument Rating and have the option of obtaining additional certificates and ratings. Graduates receive an associate of applied science degree and the confidence that they can compete as skilled professionals for a wide range of rewarding aviation positions.
Many students then proceed to a bachelor’s degree in business from UC’s College of Business. At the business school, students may take courses in marketing, finance, real estate and information technology providing knowledge to aid your advance in the industry. Qualified students who graduate from UC Clermont’s aviation program often work as flight instructors; earning enough money to pay for their additional education while logging and additional 600-700 hours of flight time.
The University of Cincinnati offers students the support needed to master the skills necessary to pilot and aircraft and chart the best course to the industry’s most promising careers. Students become part of a small class of dedicated students who receive individualized attention on the ground and in the air. Students are taught by experienced educators from UC Clermont’s Science, Engineering and Mathematics Division and other relevant disciplines. Students also learn from the highly rated aviation staff at Sporty’s Academy, the acclaimed educational affiliate of Sporty’s Pilot Shop, the world’s largest provider of pilot supplies.
