Westwind
School of Aeronautics is proud to bring you the best flight training
options available. We have listened to industry professionals and
created a comprehensive flight syllabus that includes everything you
need to stand out above the competition. We hold ourselves to the
highest degree of professionalism with formal ground schools, airline
oriented flight training, a comprehensive flight syllabus, and the most
advanced training in cutting edge glass cockpit aircraft and simulators.
Professional Pilot Program
Our
Professional Pilot Program offers two distinct tracks giving you the
tools and training necessary to become a professional in the world of
aviation.
CFI Direct Track
The CFI
(Certificated Flight Instructor) Direct Track is the most economical
way to build the experience and flight hours required to become a
professional pilot.
You will complete the following FAA Certificates and Ratings with about 330 hours of logged time:
- Private Pilot
- Instrument Rating
- Commercial Multi-Engine
- Commercial Single-Engine
- Flight Instructor Multi-Engine
- Flight Instructor Single-Engine
- Instrument Flight Instructor
As
part of the CFI Direct Track, you will also participate in our valuable
Airline Crew Orientation Program which focuses on Crew Resource
Management and training in our 737 Glass Cockpit Advanced Aviation
Training Device.
Upon successful completion of your certificates
and ratings, you are guaranteed a position as a paid flight instructor
where you will obtain the experience and flight hours necessary to
obtain your first professional pilot position. The entire track will
give you more than 1,200 hours of total flight time (100+ hours of
multi-engine time) and can be completed in as little as 20 months.
Crew Direct Track
Knowing
how important airline seniority numbers are, we designed the Crew
Direct Track for individuals who are looking for the fastest way to the
airlines. After completing the Airline Crew Orientation Program, you
will not begin training for your instructor ratings. Instead, you will
complete our specially designed flight program that mimics airline
operating procedures while allowing you to obtain valuable flight
hours. By forgoing the instructor ratings and participating in the Crew
Direct Track, you can meet regional airline flight time hiring minimums
(700 hours total time and 100 multi) in as little as 9 months.
Westwind also offers an extensive list of individual courses:
- Private Pilot Certificate
- Instrument Rating
- Multi-Engine Rating
- Flight Instructor Course
- Airline Crew Orientation Program
- G1000 Glass Cockpit Training
- FAA Wings Program
- Weather Class
- FCI Emergency Maneuver Training
- Altitude Chamber - Hypoxia Training
- Arizona Mountain Flying Safety Course
