North Carolina Rotor & Wing, LLC is able to offer helicopter training for Private Pilot Rotorcraft all the way to Certified flight instructor. Most of the instruction is completed in the Robinson R22 helicopter. We also offer the Robinson R44 for transition training and advanced instrument training. Robinson helicopters have an excellent safety record combined with a cost effective operating cost.

We have programs for both the person who wants to fly recreationally and for those who would like to pursue helicopter aviation as a career. We are proud to participate in Utah Valley State College’s Global Aviation Degree Program.

Private Pilot Certificate
The Private Pilot Certificate is intended for those who would like to fly as a hobby or personal business. This is the first step for those who are also pursuing a career as a helicopter pilot. You will be allowed to take your family, friends and co-workers on board the aircraft you are renting or you own aircraft. While acting as Pilot in Command as a Private Pilot you are not allowed by the FAA to be compensated for your skills.

Instrument Pilot Certificate
The Instrument Pilot Certificate is for pilots who already hold a Private Pilot or Commercial Pilot certificate. The Instrument rating teaches you how to fly in clouds, fog and limited visibility by sole referance of the instruments. In addition to enhancing your skills as a helicopter pilot, it also enhances your safety and confidence.

Getting your instrument rating is a wise investment for both safety and career reasons. In today’s job market, many employers will require an instrument rating. The hours you log while working on the instrument rating can count towards your commercial rating.
