Welcome to Alliance Flight Schools.
Alliance
Flight Schools offers flight training, Professional Pilot courses, and
aircraft rental. We can help you realize your goals, whether you wish
to become a pilot to fly for recreation or business, or want to train
for a job in the corporate or airline industry.
Alliance is an
FAA Approved Part 141 flight school specializing in individually
customized training for our students. Instruction is one on one in our
comfortable and well-equipped classrooms.
Alliance - why an FAA Part 141 School makes sense
- Quality Structured Education
There
are two types of flight schools catering to primary general aviation
needs. One is referred to as a certificated “Part 141 Pilot School” and
the other as a general “Part 61 Pilot School.” Part 141 schools, like
most universities, are granted an Air Agency Certificate by the FAA.
The FAA created Part 141 to address inconsistencies in pilot training
that led to unacceptable knowledge and experience. Enrollment in a
certificated school ensures quality and continuity of training. These
schools have to meet higher standards with respect to equipment,
facilities, personnel, and curriculum.
- FAA Requirements
There
are many requirements that a Pilot School must meet in order to apply
for, obtain, and keep a Part 141 Pilot School certificate. For example,
a Part 141 Pilot School must have a designated Chief Flight Instructor
overseeing the operation who must be an experienced senior pilot, with
years of teaching experience and thousands of hours of flight time.
More importantly for a student, a Part 141 school and its aircraft will
be routinely audited and inspected by the FAA, and must prove that the
aircraft meet or exceed all maintenance standards.
Many flight
schools find it impractical to qualify for FAA Part 141 certification
due to the extra work required of the instructors and staff, and
instead maintain Part 61 status.
- Savings
The FAA offers
incentives for students to train at a 141 school by requiring fewer
training hours. Due to the structured syllabus and training course
outline of a Part 141 program, students in the program are eligible for
certification with fewer hours than under Part 61. Part 141 reduces the
total time that is required for the Private Pilot certification and the
Instrument rating from 40 total flight hours under Part 61, to 35
hours. More importantly, Part 141 reduces the total time required for
the Commercial Pilot certification from 250 total flight hours under
Part 61, to only 190 hours. Considering the cost of aircraft rental,
these savings are significant.
Location and Facilities
Alliance
Flight Schools is located at Scottsdale Airport, 10 miles north-east of
downtown Phoenix. We have comfortable, modern classrooms perfect for
one on one instruction. Computers are available for weather briefing,
or teaching aids, as are televisions and DVD players.
Phoenix
averages easily over 350 days of flyable weather per year. Some
students prefer to have ground school over lunch at a local restaurant,
or even outside at the courtyard table during the cooler months. Ground
school at Alliance is based around what works best for the student, not
the instructor.
